Globalisation and Democratic Education
While we certainly do have a very solid foundation for our current education system, as the world changes, our education system needs to as well. The education that we provide our children is only as good as it is current and updated. This has brought up the very important of making sure that today’s classrooms feature a much stronger degree of global education. This is definitely something that American schools need to concentrate on more since our nation is so big it is often all too easy for students to forget that there is an entire world around them. And a specific area of this very important educational element is globalisation and democratic education.
While republicans and democrats are rarely able to agree on much, there certainly are very significant points regarding the globalization factor in our schools that all major figures in the education industry would be wise to give credence to.
One of the major components that would be required in globalisation and democratic education is that educators and curriculum would need to feature a much stronger focus on alternative and innovative educational concepts since our current system is getting to be a bit too outdated and really doesn’t feature quite enough emphasis on the activities of the rest of the world and how we are actually connected to them.
Some of the major globalisation and democratic education elements such as an improved pedagogy of diplomacy would surely help to open our children’s eyes to some of the major challenges that need to be met head on.
